what's your passion?

i was listening to lauryn hill today. she's pretty legit. the only cd of hers that i have is the mtv unplugged one. so, a little background on ms. hill. she was with a rap/r&b group that was pretty successful. then, she did it. she pulled a beyonce... except really beyonce pulled a lauryn hill... she went solo... the miseducation of lauryn hill went on to be one of the most successful and critically acclaimed albums of all time... then, she disappeared. no music. no interviews. some time later, she reemerged. different. she had found her voice again. and this time it was her true voice. she sang about what was important to her. what she thought was important, not what wold sell records. she sang with a raspy, imperfect voice. she sang truth. she also spoke truth. she talked about how God has made each of us uniquely. on purpose. He doesn't want us to fit a mold. He wants us to pursue the passions that He has given. He wants us to pursue Him in our passions. He wants us to live a holy life devoted to Him. and part of that is accepting how He made us. know of course we are a fallen people, and He is constantly at work. but He wants us to pursue us becoming more like Him. not becoming more like someone else. so i ask you, friends, what is your passion? what is is that make you tick? what is it that makes you come alive? what is it that stirs your soul and reminds you what joy and happiness is? maybe you haven't thought about it in a while. think. take an afternoon. grab a cup of coffee. maybe tea. go find some quiet. maybe play some good tunes. and just be with Him. and think, "Father. You, made me. what is the passion that You have given me? what gifts have you equipped me with? what can i do to pursue You with these gifts?"
what is your passion? go ahead and comment. think of it as a step towards pursuing that passion. i'm not saying to go quit your job to do this. unless you think He wants you to. but, i'm a firm believer that He is sovereign and will let you know. if nothing else, think of your comment as just carrying on this conversation with me (and kind of the world, but hey...)
