thoughts and photos from the journey in a place that is not my home... planet earth...

one year in both directions.
so. i've been a wanderer for a year now. well, longer than that really. since the day i graduated from kindergarten, my life has pointed towards this place not being my home. this place, earth that is, is more of a big cocoon in which i get to spread the wings of my mind and life towards a greater understanding of the glory of the Father (and using the same wings to display it). i wander with the promise that when i fly away, it won't be with my own wings or my own power but His. i wander with the promise that i will see His glory. i am so extremely blessed to get to wander a little further than most. i can't believe that i get to live here, learn the languages i am studying, and most of all meet and talk with the people who live around me. but the beauty of life for us whom the Father has claimed is that all of life is wandering. we can move around knowing this place, as beautiful and wonderful as it can be is a shadow of our real home. and for that, i say thank you Father. thank you that in one year when i return to the place i grew up and to the people who i love and who love me, i won't be going "home." but, i will be going to the temporary place you saw fit to give to me. to the people who you made my family. may the cry of be heart be to spread your glory no matter where i roam.

Dad
Thank you, fellow Wayfarer, for expressing this truth so well. I needed that reminder.
