it's coming

the hustle and bustle.  life in this highly-populated place goes on.  a day-off on friday, "why? we've never known," the say.  life goes on almost sleepily.  or as sleepily as over a billion people can be.  there is an obvious gap.  a disconnect.  there are too many things in this culture that don't make sense.  some that almost make sense, but fall short.  there are holes.  holes in the street, logic, hearts, and souls.  holes as a big as a billion people a billion times over.  something is missing.  something.  poojah and prayer five times daily distract for a moment, but the hole opens into an abyss action is powerless to fill.  there are whispers.  at an ancient tomb.  in an auto.  there are rumors.  the rumors everyone longs to be true.  the hope is building.  something is coming.  something.  and when it comes it will burst forth.  death cannot stop it.  a language barrier is but a speck of dust.  when it comes, He will be known.  when it comes to this place, when that precious name is proclaimed in megacities and villages, when it is spoken in language upon language, what hope there will be.  and we know this to be true.  it is true because Truth has already come.  He came, living, breathing, and eating with the outcasts.  He came dying but for a weekend in order to silence the grave.  He came living again to cover this globe in grace and peace.  He came to fill the hole.  the hole in the orphans heart longing for a mother.  the hole in the middle-class husband and father who knows there is a reason to live but isn't sure what it is.  the hole the businessman is trying to fill with money and imported beer.  He came.  He died.  He rose.  it's coming.  the day when His name will be proclaimed.  it's coming, and, oh! what a glorious day that will be!
