life is in the little things: breakfast

it's amazing to me how the littlest things (i should probably say small, but little is alliterative in the title and this parenthetical aside) can affect our mood.  sometimes, this is not a good thing.  sometimes, we need to let the little things go, so we can see the bigger picture more clearly.  other times, we need to hold onto the little things because they add detail to an already beautiful portrait that is life.  life is a gift.  our Creator has bestowed endless grace upon us just to let us breathe.  on top of that, he gives gifts everyday.  sometimes it's a meaningful conversation with a friend.  other times it's a sunrise or sunset that is particularly breathtaking.  today, it was breakfast.  a new marriot has opened in the city where i live.  i went this morning to try the breakfast buffet.  breakfast meat.  how i had missed it.  today, i had bacon and sausage.  i made a nice open-face sandwich with a fried egg, buttered toast, sausage, and some good, strong white cheddar cheese.  i ate a lot of food.  after i decided, my limit was a half-a-plate-ago, i sipped on some coffee as i looked out the window.  a few minutes into this time of post-food happiness, "daydreamer" by adele came on.  it was a moment that reminded me that the Lord loves us enough to not only grant us life, but also to let us enjoy life.
if you haven't lately, take some time this week or this weekend to slow down and notice the good little things, He gives.  let me know what He shows you.  i'll give you some inspiration with this morning's sandwich and music.
