kfc comes to town. this is a big deal folks.

today at 11am.  that was the hour when kfc was supposed to officially open (yesterday was a trial run for invited guests. somehow, i wasn't on the list).  i arrived at kfc a few minutes before 11.  i mean can you beat being the first customer at a kfc in south asia.  um, no. well, maybe.  anyway, they weren't open yet.  shocker.  oh wait, this is south asia, never mind. not surprising at all.  the people standing outside said they were waiting on a guest to come to open the store.  so, i went to a nearby market to do run some errands and came back an hour later.  still not open.  i waited a few more minutes.  i saw other people signing a book and putting down a phone number.  i assume to be informed when the store opened.  i went to sign the book.  one of the managers who i talked to earlier said they weren't sure when it would open, but i could wait inside.  i was all for that (it's hot here).  they took me inside (through the kitchen, not the front door) ad upstairs to the seating area.  a few minutes later, another manager came and asked if i would like something to eat.  they only had two things available original recipe and extra crunchy.  i think we had a little miscommunication because i asked for 1 original recipe chicken breast and got 2 (i think one was extra crunchy) and a pepsi.  also, it was free.  also, kfc's a/c works extremely well.  so, i think i did one better than being the first customer.  i was before the first customer.  and i think i have a shot at being the first customer as well.
